The field of neuroimaging has rapidly advanced in recent years, with researchers relying on large amounts of data to drive their investigations. Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) is a widely used standard for storing and transmitting medical images, including those used in neuroimaging. While DICOM has facilitated the sharing of neuroimaging data among researchers, the current market for storing, retrieving, and processing DICOM data is expensive, and the large size of these files can create difficulties in transmitting them over the internet. Blockchain technology offers a promising solution to these challenges, allowing for secure, efficient, and cost-effective sharing of DICOM data.
